The court case to challenge section 53 of Belize’s criminal code is set to start on May 7, 2013. There has been heated discussion on both sides of this issue with the evangelical churches leading the charge against change with UNIBAM on the other side of the table.

There has been a lot of talk in the Belizean press lately about the “Homosexual Agenda.” As a member of the gay community I have never really understood what this agenda consisted of, other then possibly equality, but the religious groups in Belize seem certain such a thing exists. They also like to imply that this agenda is somehow associated with the downfall of society but never seem to be able to pinpoint exactly how the gay community is going to cause this catastrophe.
